Universal Sci-Fi & Fantastic Film Festival
For five festivals we have brought science and imagination together on the big screen. The 6th US3F is in May 2027, in Istanbul and across our festival cities.
This event is supported by the Republic of Türkiye Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Organised with the support of the General Directorate of Cinema, in cooperation with the ISAAC Association.

The Universal Sci-Fi & Fantastic Film Festival (US3F) was founded in Istanbul in 2022, built on cinema's power to carry audiences into fantasy tales, parallel universes, surreal worlds and spaceships. We see science and imagination as humanity's two most powerful tools, and we bring films, interactive experiences and interdisciplinary talks together under one roof.
Supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the General Directorate of Cinema, and organised in cooperation with the ISAAC Association (International Association of Creators of Science and Art), the festival brings artificial intelligence, advanced technology, digital art and cinema together. It connects local and international genre filmmakers with audiences and honours those who have shaped the genre.

1st festival
2nd festivalThe phoenix
Gölgeler İçinde won in the national feature category and Archive in the international feature category. Özkan Uğur received an award for his contribution to cinema.
3rd festivalTechnology on stage
Robotics, metaverse, VR and AR experiences joined the festival. International titles such as Restore Point and Aire were screened, and the campaign ran on Beyoğlu's LED screens.
4th festivalAn AI award
The closing ceremony was held in the Atlas Space metaverse. The Good, The Bad, The Bloodthirsty won Best AI Short Film.
5th festivalAcross Türkiye
With 12 universities, the festival reached 13 cities. Fifteen films from nine countries competed in the short film, AI short film and feature categories.
